Someone finally was able to get up to my tag so I can finally post about my ride to get it!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Now to find somewhere to tag!
There had been one place I was going to check out. It was going to be a few hours ride before from home. So why not use that? I know it is historic and the picture possibilities were really nice. The only thing is that it is in the northern most part of the state. My only concern was that there were a few people that live in my area already and its even further north. But it is a good spot so… Tyke and I go for it.
I know to get to the actual point there aren’t fun roads but to get there for anyone there are many possibilities. This time around I would let Zumo redeem himself and we will follow him. All highway… Zumo… But we already agreed and so we were off down, or up rather, 95 allllll the way to Havre de Grace for our next tag is going to be the Concord Point Light House.
Protection!
A look out over the water
I will note that though I am sure this point has received many visitors and some of them were motorcyclists the look on the tour person’s face was rather skeptical as I was taking pictures. It almost said ‘please don’t ask to go up’. I didn’t but not because of the look. It looked a little small inside and I really didn’t want to gear all the way down. If I had my other camera I would been like bring it on! But with this dinky camera phone its not that exciting.
The marker that states the end of the Susquehanna river into the bay, the factoid that probably clinched the location for those playing J
Trying to be artsy with a camera phone is Nye near impossible (For now, I am sure things have improved or will improve as my phone, though new this year, is again outdated )
A historic marker about the Revolutionary War
The marker stating that this land is now a Historical landmark
Incase your interested across the street is the Marine Museum. I didn’t get any information on this as I was getting ready to head back home. The bikes out in front were pretty to look at…I don’t know who they are but they thought I was weird too because I circled this area a few times looking for a place to park that wouldn’t get me in to much trouble…
That being done it was time to go home. I was getting hungry and I still had to come up with dinner. So I hopped on Route 40 and rode that alllll the way back. I stopped for the first time at a fast food place called Checkers it was really good!! I was surprised really. (For those in CA I kind of think of Checkers like a Jack in the box or Carls Jr., a good burger but probably one I couldn’t afford to eat at every day.) They do have a different feel though. As its like an old school Wienerschnitzel where they have the drive through or walk up but no dinning area, except what is outside. It was kind of neat.
The rest of the ride was uneventful as was planned. I got Tyke all tucked away.
