Alright I have been out a few times. With and without guides so I decided to check on some of the roads I enjoyed while on their rides. This time taking it a bit slower and checking out some back roads of the back roads. This is where the GPS comes in real handy. And yes I did get lost a few times.
So to start us off we traveled 138 though some of that were quick errands I needed to run... So at the start of this ride the Odo said
Open roads... Lets go! This is Red Lion Road.. This one I remembered don't count on it for all the pictures...
House in the ground
Some of you may or may not remember the Welcome to MD ride where I met up with Colleen and Carl. On that ride I had the unfortunate happenstance to drop Tyke. In doing so I broke my Camera but this.. Is the spot. I frequently reminded Tyke not to get any bright ideas. We are to remain upright and be happy with that. Thankfully she complied.
Another fun road
A stream/creek/brook depending on your meanings
Tyke and the Trees.. she so loves the trees
The two of us, and the guard rail...
Loving that new helmet btw! It does get very very noisy on the freeway but that could be because I am going to fast... :: Sweet smiles and innocent faces ::
Look what I found!
A friend of mine was just telling me how he knew of covered bridges in PA well lookie that! I don't have to go to PA to find a covered bridge! Just don't ask me if it has a name... Or where it is on the map! I should have waypointed it but I forgot...Though if I really had to guess I would say it is on Jericho road...
The adventuresome duo
Me! ME ME! Can ya see me?
Te da!
Yes Tyke, we WILL go down that road!
An odd house.. And though it is blurry it is not blurry enough to have TWO windows on the roof, so don't blame that on me. I would say that kudos goes to the architect.
Best road ever! Nice road physically but really I just love the name, so catchy. Kinda grows on ya.. Hehe
Even with a cafe/grille
So I am sure most of the local haunters know wheres I am. I don't and so have to frequently check the Gps to make sure I am still in some part of the world. Well when you see a sign like this:
And your GPS unit says to go straight still... You have an Oh Holy Mother of all Motorcycles save me! And she grants your wish...
Turn on...
Weeehoooo saved! Just before the closed area:
What are they doing that they must scare me so?
New bridge!
Now if life isn't confusing enough.. Lets throw on as many road signs as we can and see who crashes into who.. Just for kicks
Don't worry no one got hurt in the making of that witty statement. I only stated an observation.
So I am moving along and having a good time of it. miss one turn or another and end up on this road. I ride down it and pass this little turn off road then go Aww crap the Gps wants me to get on the freeway! Turn around! For the love that is back roads turn around! So I do... I turn around and as I am passing that little turn off road I see this purdy little white bridge and go Hummmm.. But I already passed it! Guess what? Turn around! For the love that is all purdy bridges turn around! So I do!
The bridge provides crossing for this major water way.. hehe
And this foliage
But it is nice, quiet, and so it is a good place to take a break
And play with the camera while getting odd looks from people going by..
Now you may be asking why is it Sunny is smiling so widely. Well normally i would say because I was having a blast but it so happens I wasn't expecting to get this picture. I was playing with the guard rails again to use it as a holder while I timed a picture. Well I got everything set up, hit the button, ran across the path to Tyke when a car comes!! I was like great! Now I will get a car and have to do this again! So that was what I was thinking when the car passed and the picture was snapped. I guess I do smile even in Oh crap situations Hehe!
Turns out the area I had found was actually a quiet little walking park. Nothing really significant that I could see.. But possibly a good stop for grouping up or picinics..
Another open road, with the exception of the car of course..
I decided that I wanted to take some other roads I had played on recently, Harford and Manor road... A few others so I went searching and got lost, I found Plesantville though and found this neat bridge. Pause here for a second. I don't have an abundant fixation on bridges they just happen and happen to be good places to take pictures. Just so we are clear. I enjoy all sorts of things, it is amazing and little things amuse me Hehe.
Back to the bridge!
So I did find the roads, albeit a bit backwards and I finished out Manor road to find nothing else of real interest. So Romeo (from last week's ride) had the right of it by picking that portion of the road. Harford, or Old Harford something like that was just awesome! To bad I kept getting stuck behind cars!! I wanted to cry really... I winded my way along and even pulled off a road, not Harford I don't think but some road I was on and took a picture just to put some distance between me and a moron with a license...
That is one thing that I noticed about CA. Sometimes it takes a little bit for the cars to actually pull over to the side to let an MC pass but they do. Here the concept doesn't seem to grasp their brain. Though I did come across a few that did I am guessing that they are motorcyclists themselves.
Anyway! I digress! I took a road that I thought would be familiar Falls Road but it was nothing but goaty and filled with kamikaze squirrels... Nothing like the previous falls road I was on. But there was a bridge! Oh! But this squirrel! I gotta tell you about this freak! It was lounging in the sun in the middle of the road. I am glad it wasn't naked! Sheesh! Well I come up it jumps up starts to run one way then decides to go right into my path!! EEP! He... or she... ran into my way! Eeep! I wiggle so I don't think I hit it but I go on, get about two hundred yards then remember the fuzzy critter... Crap I have to go back and make sure I didn't hit the little creature. So I turn around, yet again, and go check. Cruse by but don't see nuffin! Awesome! I didn't hit it or it was able to get off the road.. So turn back around and head back on my way...
Our way rather. Our way to another bridge! O.o....
This one over looks another body of water..
I know this bridge looks like the last bridge but I swear it is a different one!
That was the last picture of the ride. I know saddening. I had to get home so I punched Home and took off home. I am not sure how long it took for I don't remember when I started or when I ended at this pont. Hehe.
I hope you enjoyed! I did!
